Somewhere between now and the next 2 weeks there will be an update coming up, depending if testing goes properly.
The update will take place in the update center as usual. This will be however probably be the last update that will take place there as you will notice in the possible features with this update.

Please watch the blog and in world group notices closely to know if the update is there.
We will then be moving on to version 3.0 of all systems.
(NOTE: This update does not take place now, but we urge you to watch our site to be notified.)

We are now going to name a new feature list. These features will not be there in this update and new product launch for sure, however we will try to get them all ready for this update:

Possible new features and products:

Update Normal & Adult Televisions to version 3.0:
• Some normal channels will be deleted and added. Of course 12 normal channels will remain.
• Televisions are now 1 primitive and don’t need to be deeded anymore. They can however not change channels anymore on touch. On touch the owner does however get a menu to change the size of the television easily. This means the TV isn’t modify anymore as this can be changed in a menu.
• You will get an extra Tunerbox® with your television. If you are on group land you have to deed this box to the group that owns the land. By touching this box a menu will appear to change the channels. The Tunerbox® will be 1 primitive.
• The URL (internet address) where is streamed from will be different for every user even if the same channel. We will be making the next step to session based URLs, that are not approachable from anywhere else then Second Life. This makes the chance for stream hijackers/stealers even smaller and will give more power to our servers as we have only allowed users then.
• For updates after 3.0 we will integrate a system that can update the scripts with an update disk.
• Stream guarantee will be stored in a remote server and makes your product less heavy loading. The remote server will calculate if your 1 year stream guarantee is done or not.

Update Networked Televisions:
• Some normal channels will be deleted and added. Of course 12 normal channels will remain.
• The Networked televisions will disappear from the store. For the following year we will still be giving necessary updates on them of course as we promised everyone a year stream guarantee.
The Networked televisions will make place for a new product line called the CondoLine®

Update DVD’s:
• The URL (internet address) where is streamed from will be different for every user even if the same channel. This makes the chance for stream hijackers/stealers even smaller and will give more power to our servers as we have only allowed users then.
• Stream guarantee will be stored in a remote server and makes your product less heavy loading. The remote server will calculate if your 4 weeks stream guarantee is finished or not.

New product:
All of our products except single DVD’s will be also available in CondoLine® probably per 5, 10, 25 or 50 pieces.
This new product makes it possible to have multiple streams on one parcel.
For instance you have a condo building with 10 apartments in there you rent out. Now you can place a TV in every apartment and every apartment can view different channels separate from each other.
No more we have to be dependent of the 1 stream the parcel can carry in this new product.

As we speak we the ticketing system is repaired!

We tried  to recover all the tickets and all that were open are replied.
If you didnt get a reply yet your ticket got lost.

Since yesterday 2 AM SL time we have been offline due a temporary network issue. Unfortunately it took a long time to fix and at from 11 AM SL time we were back online.

Unfortunately this only took about 15 minutes as there was a voltage problem that was caused by the fix after that.
This meant the datacenter had to install a totally new server what took a long time again.

Totally we were offline for almost 19 hours and everything is up and running again now!
We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause but hope you understand our hands were tied as this was a datacenter issue.

In the future we will do everything to prevent this and hope you have happy viewing from now on!

Apparently something went wrong with our ticketing system and about 60% of the tickets got stuck. At this time we have to apologize for the inconvenience that this matter causes and has caused.
Now we are trying to repair the ticketing system and get back all the tickets that were apparently hidden and not recognized by the system in a certain way anymore. Over the weekend we will work extra hours and give extra effort to get this all fixed. By Monday this should be done and we will start to give the people that waited a long time for a response a return answer.
For that reason it can also be that tickets entered now take a little longer as we treat all open tickets in the order first in first reply.

Again our apologies for the inconvenience and we are working very hard to solve this!

New tickets can be entered as normal.

We recently had some problems with server requests. Our datacenter resolved the issue and repaired the connection. Unfortunately we could not avoid a short server outage of a few hours. Everything is now back to normal and should work as before.

We hope this has not caused you any trouble and will try our best to avoid this in the future.

We are at the moment very busy building our new store. We thought the skybox was not the way to stay and are making an store on a ground floor location. Next to only the store we will build a mall around it. The stores will be for rent and other vendors will be able to profit from our traffic.
The whole thing is not done yet and we are working hard to get there, but until then we didn’t want to hold you from a snapshot of the new view.

As if that all isn’t enough, we will also have a club there where the reception at the opening probably will be. We will have a great hangout there every night from the opening. Until then stay tuned!

Hello all and welcome to the new appearance of our site!

We have decided to make a complete new look. To you this maybe looks like the same with some small changes, but there are a lot of different things that changed.
For instance our news and new sections. They are now integrated with our NEW blog, where we also give our point of view about Second Life and Second Life news. In these 3 sections that are part of our blog you can even leave comments! We home we get some nice replies to our newsfeeds.
If you want our news on your own Second Life site we even have a RSS feed that you can use freely.

Next to that we don’t want to keep you from the Second Life Blog news from Linden Lab self so we also integrated a headline feed for that. We hope you all like the new look and features and will fill up our blog with the news messages we had before so you can read back whenever you want.

There can still be some bugs in the site since we just launched the new look and features, but we will do our best to filter them asap.

[Update] SL Logins with the cause of these errors are possible again.

As we see today Second Life is in much trouble technically. The grid has been closed for residents several hours. We do believe Second Life will work hard on getting this resolved. I have seen many comments on various sites, that Linden Lab would not care because the money is already in.
I seem to disagree. Second Life is momentarily going down in new user and online figures, want obviously also gives Linden Labs some worries.
Errors like this will cause some current users to leave Second Life or new users making their first or second impression to not carry on with Second Life, what will eventually lead to big income loss to Linden Labs.
There were some offers from 3rd parties to buy Second Life from Linden Labs, but they decided to keep the platform. This means they still see future in the growth of Second Life and will try to work hard on the platform to perform better and have less errors.

Today is very inconvenient and what the precise technical details of the error are we will probably never know. However.. I believe Linden Lab is trying hard to make things work again.
